Expanding The Boundaries Of Self Beyond The Limit Of Traditional Thought Discovering The Magic Within

My mother and Father having already made the transition or, as we so often refer to it, 'died,' caused me on that special day known as Mothers’ Day to make an imaginary call to her, in that dimension we so often refer to as Heaven.
To my surprise, here is how the conversation went:
"Hello, may I speak to Mom?"
"Which Mom Son. Mom who?"
"To whom am I speaking?"
"This is St. Peter!"
"Is this Heaven?"
"Yes Son, may I help you?"
"St. Peter, I wish to speak to Mavis, my Mom"

"I am sorry Son, she is resting. You will have to call back later"
"Okay, I will call back later. Oh, incidentally St. Peter, is it day or night there?"
"No son, We neither have day nor night here. Remember, we are not in your dimension."
"But, if there is no day and night how can you possibly tell the time?"
"No son, we can't." He said.

I then asked a few other questions to clarify what I could clearly see was developing into a dilemma.

"St. Peter, if there is no day nor night and no time, how can I possibly call back later?"
"Son, that is the message she wanted to have given you. She was certain that you would have understood"
He then continued to say,
"That is your Mother's day present to you from her, my Son. Because of the great love you have for her, the memory still lives within you and is transcending and bridging the dimensions between us. It has, therefore, allowed you to be rewarded with one of the greatest secrets of your life and your source".

"What could that be St. Peter", I asked curiously. He continued,

"My Son, you have just come into the realization that time and space and day and night, are only earthly experiences and do not really exist, except on your dimension and in your mind where, although it seems real, it is but an illusion".

"So, what am I to understand from this realization ?" I pleaded.
Then there was a moment of silence...and he said,

"Everything just is. Live in the ‘now’. Today was yesterdays future, but today will also be tomorrow’s past.
Your source, the Universal One, requires everything that is past, present and that to come, my Son.
You come from your source and you shall return to your source.
Therefore, all you will ever possess is the ‘I AM’ which is Divine Love expressing itself as ‘now’."

"St. Peter, what a realization!"
"Happy Mother's Day Son". He said.

And then there was silence...and mentally I said a prayer of thanks and whispered quietly in my mind, 'so long St. Peter'.

It then dawned on me that there really was no separation between us except my limited perception of the illusion that time and space were real. I finally understood what he meant:

"That love is all that there is and exists only in the now, in the moment, in the unending present which never ceases to be the ‘now’. Love transcends time and space. Love is all that there is. Therefore, Mom was still close-by as she was love. But I too am love, and love is Universal. But the Universe is love and since all is love, then love is one."

Only at that moment did I really understand what was meant by...
"
I am"

"Experiences in life are made up of momentary reactions but love is the only true reaction, therefore, love is the only true experience"

Many thanks to my friend, Brian Schaefer of Queensland, Australia, for the above quote he shared with me while we both meditated at the hill top at Prashanti Nilayam, Puttaparthi, India. 1992.

People do not understand the ways of God. How can they know why a particular event takes place, in a particular manner? He alone can know. But people try to sit in judgement and talk ill, when, for example, someone dies of illness.  How can anyone escape death? Even Avatars (incarnations) cast off the physical form when the task for which they have come is over. It is the height of foolishness to lose faith in God, when someone you cared for dies. The sentence that he earned is over and he is released. No one is born and allowed to live for the sake of another.
Every man born must have the end always in view. Cultivate good habits of thought and action in order to make that end genuinely auspicious. No tree will yield fruits the moment you plant the seedling. It has to be fostered with care over a long period of time. Similarly, whatever result you seek, you have to follow carefully, without break, the preparatory disciplines. Seekers must always be aware of this. The yearning must be directed away from ‘How to be born’ towards ‘How to die’! For birth depends on how death takes place. Death comes first, birth later. People believe that men are born to die and they die so that they may be born. This is wrong. You are born so that you may not be born again; you die so that you may not die again. That is to say, the man who dies must so die that he is not born again.
