At ten years of age, Kris joined the youth section of The Jamaica Musical Theatre Company. He performed in the local versions of “Grease”, “Cats”, and “Aladdin” in which he had his first starring role as the Evil Wizard. At thirteen, Kris moved on to The Little People Company, directed by Kathy Levy, a former Miss Jamaica. Kris traveled with the company on his first tour at the age of fourteen, in an original musical that traveled and played throughout the United States of America, the United Kingdom, Canada and the Caribbean, several times a year. At fifteen, after graduating from high school, Kris joined the prestigious Ashe Caribbean Performing Arts Ensemble and also became a member of The Jamaica School of Dance. Two years later, in order to further hone his performing arts skills, he set out for New York. In New York, Kris auditioned for The Tisch School of the Arts at the New York University and at seventeen years of age, attended NYU Tisch on scholarship for the next three and a half years. He graduated with honors (3.85) and was on the Dean’s list. During Kris’s last year at NYU Tisch, the famed choreographer David Allen contacted him for a lead role in Mr Allen’s ballet and a picture of Kris, from that ballet, became the cover of the brochure of the Tisch School's undergraduate and graduate programs for the next two years. Kris is also a graduate of Dance Theatre of Harlem, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre and The Joffrey Ballet schools. Kris moved to Los Angeles where he appeared in “Hollywood Unveiled” a Rock Musical at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles, directed by the award winning director/choreographer, Michael Rooney. While performing at the El Rey Theatre, Kris was signed by the established company Athena Talent Management, located in Beverly Hills and Italy. He also appeared in a second rock musical named “Carnivinyl” at the El Rey Theatre. Kris went to Hawaii and played the role of Billy in the musical production of “Billy The Kid”. He also played the wolf in “Peter and the Wolf”. Later that year, he performed the role of Jesus Christ in the original play “The Rose and The Cross” directed by Jeffrey Gunter Anderson. followed by a few videos, some commercials and a role on “The Bold and the Beautiful”. Then came “The Lion King” at the Pantages Theatre as a principal dancer of this renowned muscial. What happened next was a creatively inspired move to Europe with his management’s blessings. Immediately upon his arrival in Italy, Kris was hired by Ballandi Productions to tour with "Torno Sabato"- the number one TV show of the year on RAIUNO Prima Serata,Sabato Sera. Then he did " La Bella e La Bestia" (Beauty and The Beast), followed by a stint at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples for the renowned Roland Petit as a Guest Performer in “The Duke Ellington Ballet”. Kris then went to Rome to perform in Ballandi Production’s “Sognando Las Vegas”. In 2003, he was hired by Lorenzo Vitali’s L’Artistica Musical Theatro in Pavia, Italy for the lead role of Leroy in David De Silva’s “FAME”. After a few weeks rehearsal for “FAME” Kris traveled to Toyko, where he once again guest starred in Roland Petit’s “Duke Ellington Ballet. He returned to Pavia for the opening of “Fame” September 18, 2003 at the beautiful Teatro Fraschini to a full house and seven standing ovations. “FAME” – The Musical began touring October 10, 2003 to the cities of Udine, Firenze, Bologna, Genova, Torino, Trieste, Milano, Pescara, Livorno, Bari, and Trento. While in Milan with “FAME”, Kris was interviewed for radio by Joe T. Vannelli. Immediately after “FAME”, Kris joined the National Italian Tour of the famed Renato Zero in Milan, Rome, Florence and Verona where he performed as a principal dancer with nightly audiences of 70,000. Kris is presently the new face for the 2005 campaign for “Killer Loop” the newest sunglasses from Ray Ban. He modeled for the designer Calvin Klein in the Milan runway show. Kris performed every Saturday night on the Rai Uno Television show “Ma il Cielo é Sempre Piu Blu” with an audience of millions of viewers. Currently, you can see Kris on a National Italian TV commercial as one of the faces of 'Dixi San Carlo' Potato chips. In addition, he has received offers for The Lion King National Tour in the USA, The Norway National Jazz Company and The Broadway Show “Aida”. Since Kris has been living and working in Europe, he has acquired Italian and French as his second and third languages. After extensive study in voice, Kris is writing music and laying tracks as he enters into the Universal World of Music. This International star is on the rise and one to watch as he introduces the beauty of his artistic abilities and inspirational spirit as he continues to entertain. |
